Followed my dream - became a professional ballet dancer. Was a principal dancer with the Colorado Ballet and somewhere along the line I got a BA in history and an MA in theater - life was very very busy. I danced in Germany for four years - can now speak fluent German. Moved back to the states, worked in a professional children's theater at the Arkansas Arts Center.

Met the love of my life - moved to L.A. where I started my own ballet company and to pay the bills, began working with computers. Turns out I have a proclivity for code - wouldn't my dad have been amazed? When the chimney of our Pasadena house fell down in an earthquake, we decided L.A. was no longer the place.

Moved to NJ, outside of Philly, bought and renovated a 1879 house, but never like the area much - no great restaurants, and childless couples are a complete anomaly. BUT, the company I worked for sent me around the world. That, plus traveling with my mother, took me from China and Thailand to Sao Paulo to Europe. Plus several visits to Merete Selmer, our AFS student.

Moved to DC about 8 years ago, bought and renovated a 1937 house in Chevy Chase that had been empty for 2 years. I work for the EPA in Information Technology.

As a replacement for my creative loss when I quit ballet (my body couldn't hack it any longer and I was sick of plies), I now write novels. Cross your fingers for me - I'm just sending my first one around, trying to find an agent.

I'm older, a bit stiffer but can still touch my toes, and I love to laugh with the best of them. Looking forward to seeing everyone and hearing your stories. I promise not to wear my "Be careful or you'll end up in my novel" sweatshirt!
