First of all, I’d like to thank all of you who have worked so hard on the reunion and the website – I’ve enjoyed reading about our former classmates. The committee has done a terrific job!

My life has been rich and full with joy and sadness, as it is for everyone. After my three children were born and in school, I worked at our church for a few years before I started working for the Government (Forest Service, National Park Service and Department of Energy). The government offered a buyout the summer my husband was diagnosed with bone cancer so I took the buyout so I could stay home and care for him. He died in 1999. Three years later my mother was diagnosed with liver cancer and came to live with me in Loveland her last months. The void and pain of her loss was lessened when God sent her former pastor into my life (he actually presided at her memorial service) and we’ve now been married 4 ˝ years – some of the best years of my life!!! Between us we have 7 children, 22 grandchildren, and 2 great granddaughters. We had a new home built in Johnstown and enjoy ‘living in the country’ (well, it seems like that).

It’s great being retired – we enjoy relaxing, reading, playing tennis, and we travel a lot (my husband plays senior softball locally and nationally) – and we don’t have time to do everything we’d like to do. I also write poetry and am working on a book of poems.

I thank God for the joys and the trials – all of which have made me who I am today. I am one blessed woman!
