I graduated from the University of Colorado in January of 1968 with a degree in Business. I was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Marine Corps and served 13 months in South Vietnam. After leaving the Marine Corps I married the love of my life (Rita Ruth) who I met while stationed in Yuma, Arizona. We moved to Denver and I went back to school to become a teacher and a coach. I was fortunate to be able to be a teacher, coach, and school administrator for 30 years in Jefferson County, mostly at Pomona High School in Arvada.

Rita and I are blessed with four wonderful children all married to great people. (Julie, Jason, Jennifer, and Joel) We have three grandchildren with two more on the way. We have moved to Highlands Ranch where we live near three of our children and two of our grandchildren.

After retiring from Jeffco, I worked as the Executive Director at Foothills Community Church in Arvada for almost four years and retired from there in the Fall of 2006. I currently volunteer as an assistant coach at Mounatain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch and am a professsional grandpa.
