After graduating from CU with a BA in Chemistry and a summer job at Rocky Flats as a Mass Spectrometer researcher and at Mound Researh Labs in Ohio, I went to Yale Medical School and stayed for two years as a surgical Resident. Another summer job doing immunology Rresearch for Squibb. Then got to spend 2 years as Battalion Surgeon for The Third Infantry Division in Schwienfurt(pig crossing)West Germany just after Viet Nam War ended. Learned some German and Skied the Alps and traveled with the soldiers on their training exercises. I then did a 1 year stint as an ER Doctor befor returning for additional surgical residency at Brown University and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The University of Chicago. I stayed on the faculty of The Univ. of Chicago. I left after 2 years and returned to Colorado to open a private practice in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery doing mostly hand and facial injuries although I did everything in Plastic Surgery and taught ER Doctors from Univ of Colorado and Denver Health Medical Center how to manage trauma. I retired in 2001 but got to go back to full time teaching at CU as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Denver Health Medical Center in 2002. I retired again in 2005 when fiancial pressures a due to poor reimbursement disbanded our Plastic Surger Residency program. Who knows, I may flunk retirement again but for now am enjoying retirement. I have 3 wonderful Kids from my first marriage who are just finishing up college and getting their lives started in OR, NY and NJ. The oldest is a Physicist/Electrical Engineer at Knoll Research Lab Outside Albany doing nuclear power for the Navy. I have been very happily married to my second wife Sheila for 9 years and live in Applewood. I look forward to seeing as many classmates as possible at the reunion.
